Cooking in our house in non-existent. Too many picky eaters combined with a non-existent cook. Normally we have the kids cook for themselves. Now that we have a little one, I want to expand from meals kids can cook themselves, to quick meals I can make for them and that they can help with.
In the middle of our No Spending Challenge, having something they will eat gets tricky.
Here is one go-to meal the kids all love!
Noodle Dogs: Easy to make and a great way to use up those leftover hotdogs. It’s great because the kids can help make them as well. Simply cut the hot dog into 5-6 coin-sized slices. Then take spaghetti noodles (we do 4 per hot dog) and stick them through the hot dog.
Cook them as you would spaghetti and viola~ dinner is served!
The first time making them Chase wanted to know, “what happened to the sticks?” We had a lesson in noodles following that question.
You can season them with marinara or cheese sauce as well. . My kids don’t even like that (we are working on that), so we just tossed them with butter, Parmesan cheese, and garlic salt. Look at those happy faces!
